MARYLAND ARMY NATIONAL GUARD

JOINT EDUCATION

 AGREEMENT

 

 

1)     American Intercontinental University (AIU) will give all MDNG members and their families attending their school a Freedom Grant of 15% on all academic/technical programs by our online university. University grants and scholarships are based on established criteria as published in the University's catalog and are awarded after verification that the conditions of eligibility have been met. In addition, AIU will waive the application fee of $50 for the Maryland National Guard Members and their immediate families. If a member, AIU will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

2)     American Military University (AMU) will give all our MDNG members attending their school Tuition at $250 per semester hour for undergraduate and graduate courses. No textbook charges for undergraduate study. Free Course:  One free course per year if member exceeds your tuition cap. In addition, AMU Will waive there application fee for Maryland National Guard Members. If a member, American Military University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC)

 

3)     American Public University (APU) will give all our MDNG members attending their school Tuition at $250 per semester hour for undergraduate and graduate courses. No textbook charges for undergraduate study. Free Course:  One free course per year if member exceeds your tuition cap. In addition, APU Will waive there application fee for Maryland National Guard Members. If a member, American Public University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC)

 

4)     Bellevue University (BU) will give all our MDNG members attending their school a free Academic Evaluation of all training received in the MDNG as well as civilian schooling on all academic/technical programs provided by your school. If a member, Bellevue University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

5)     Central Michigan University- CMU is able to offer the Maryland National Guard a discounted tuition rate of $250/credit for both graduate and undergraduate courses. This reflects a discount of roughly 5% for undergraduate and 27% for graduate courses. (Students will be required to provide a copy of their military ID to qualify.) In addition, we will offer a one time $50.00 textbook credit through our online book service (MBSdirect) for all new students who enroll in courses for Spring I (Jan), Spring II (March) or Summer (May). If students are active when entering CMU, they will retain the military discount as long as they are enrolled, even if their status changes to inactive. This charter serves, as a contract between the MDNG and Central Michigan University. The MDNG will invite CMU to recruit MDNG members and their families as “potential enrollees” to attend their college. If a member, Central Michigan University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

6)     Columbia Southern University (CSU) will give all our MDNG members attending their school a 10% discount on all academic/technical programs provided by your school. CSU will place the MDNG Logos (Army and Air) on the Columbia  Southern University Web site and will place a link on the Columbia South University Website to the MDNG Web Site. If a member, Columbia Southern University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

7)     Colorado Technical University (CTU) will give all our MDNG members attending their school a total of 10% discount on all academic/technical programs provided by your school. This includes a 5% Education Program grant and a 5% Freedom/Liberty grant. In addition, (CTU) Will waive there application fee for Maryland National Guard Members. If a member, Colorado Technical University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

8)     Kaplan University (KU) the military discount entitles traditional MDNG members, Active  Guard/Reserve, and activated guard troops to 15% off tuition for Kaplan University degree programs (associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s programs—certificates and Concord Law School are NOT included).

  • Active troops, reserves, and guard must submit a copy of their military ID (both sides) to receive the discount.

  • If students are active when entering KU, they will retain the military discount as long as they are enrolled, even if their status changes to inactive.

  • The military discount entitles All Guard members, up to $1400 to any student that submits all required enrollment packet documents within seven calendar days of contact.

 

Scholarships Offered

Kaplan University (KU) offers three different scholarships for qualified students.

The scholarships include, The Kaplan University Success Scholarship, the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, and the Criminal Justice Scholarship.

KAPLAN UNIVERSITY CRIMINAL JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP

Awards

• Criminal Justice Certificate Programs: $200 per course, with total amount of award not to exceed $1,200

• Associate of Applied Science or Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Programs: $200 per course, with total amount of award not to exceed $3,600

• Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Program: $200 per course, with total amount of award not to exceed $5,400

Application Information

Students must fill out a scholarship application form as part of the University application process. In addition, students must submit two letters of recommendation and a letter from an employer confirming one year of full-time criminal justice experience. . In addition, Kaplan University (KU) Will waive there application fee for Maryland National Guard Members. If a member, Kaplan University will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

9)     Villa Julie College- (VJC) collaborates with the MDNG providing our members with a 15% discount on Tuition and Fees for both full-time and part-time matriculated students in all of our undergraduate, graduate, and accelerated programs. This discount will be awarded as the (VJC) Partnership Grant as agreed upon my VJC's Offices of Student Accounts and Financial Aid. In addition, (VJC) will waive there application fee for Maryland National Guard Members. If a member, Villa Julie College will retain continuous membership within the Service Members Opportunity College Program (SOC).

 

10) TESST College- (TC) collaborates with the MDNG providing our members with a 20% discount on Tuition for the following programs: Electronics degree and Electronics Certification (daytime) Networking degree and Networking Certification (daytime). TESST College will provide a 10% discount on Tuition for the following programs: HVAC, Electrician, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Drafting, Networking Degree Programs and Certification (Nights)

 

11) Saint Leo University will give all our MDNG members attending their school Tuition at $250 per semester hour for undergraduate and graduate courses. SLU will give all our MDNG members attending their school a free Academic Evaluation of all training received in the MDNG as well as civilian schooling on all academic/technical programs provided by your school. Furthermore, SLU will provide assistance for textbooks. This assistance is contingent upon the course.
