Officer Candidate School
If you are a College Graduate or have completed at least 90 credit hours, you may be eligible to attend the OCS Program. In order to enroll in State OCS you must be a Basic Training graduate. The State OCS is comprised of three phases; an initial two-week phase, a year of drill weekends in between and a final two-week phase.

Current Guard members can enroll into the OCS program with a recommendation, from their unit commander, as long as they meet criteria below.


Reserve Officer Training Corps ROTC
ROTC also has a college elective you can try out for up to two years with no obligation. You will combine classroom time with hands-on experience learning skills that are sure to give you an edge in life.

Direct Commission
If you a practicing lawyer, chaplain or medical profession you may be eligible to direct commission based on your civilian experience and education. 

The Maryland Army National Guard is actively seeking prior service military officers, active Army, National Guard interstate transfers and USAR transfers.

Warrant Officer Program

Warrant Officers are highly specialized experts and trainers who operate, maintain, administer, and manage equipment, support activities, or technical systems.

Eligibility Requirements:
Be a U.S. Citizen
CH22 Physical Examination
High School or GED graduate
6 college credits in English
E-5 or above with ALC, GT Score of 110
Experience in the career field (3 to 6 years)
Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test and HT/WT
Secret security clearance (Interim to apply)
